Impensable: Primus y Mastodon se van juntos de gira

Aunque parezca sacado de un libro de fantasía, en realidad está pasando. Primus unirá fuerzas con Mastodon para una gira de finales de primavera / principios de verano en los EE. UU. Comenzando el 6 de mayo en Red Rocks, esta travesía cruzará el país y volverá, con paradas en Austin 360 Amphitheatre, The Fox en Atlanta, Coney Island Amphitheatre en Brooklyn, Northerly Island en Chicago, teatros griegos en San Francisco y Los Angeles y muchos más antes de finalizar el 7 de julio en Phoenix.

 

Los boletos de preventa comienzan el martes, 30 de enero, y el día general es el viernes, 2 de febrero.

 

El noveno álbum de estudio de Primus, «The Desaturating Seven«, llevó a la banda de regreso a algunos de los sonidos y estilos de sus primeros días y ha recibido elogios de Consequence Of Sound, Rolling Stone, AV Club y más. El álbum marca el regreso de la línea definitiva de Primus – el cantante / bajista Les Claypool, el guitarrista Larry «Ler» LaLonde y el baterista Tim «Herb» Alexander – por su primer álbum de música original desde 1995.

 

La inspiración para el álbum provino de un libro para niños de 1978 llamado «The Rainbow Goblins» del autor y artista italiano Ui de Rico.  Puedes conocer más detalles de este disco haciendo click aquí

 

«Es una historia sobre personas glotonas que succionan los colores del mundo«, dice Les Claypool. «El uso excesivo de recursos por parte de la élite codiciosa, y cómo las masas mansas pueden superarlos al final mediante la unificación. Parecía bastante relevante en estos días«.
